Due to the generosity and efforts of many individuals, Homemade for Hunger is experiencing growth and & expansion.  In order to keep up, Homemade for Hunger is in need of additional types of donations aside from those listed below.  Our current needs include:

Desktop Computer Systems & Printers -
If you or someone you know is thinking of donating their current computer equipment, please contact us & we would be happy to make a pick-up within the Twin Cities area.  Otherwise, we also accept monetary donations to Homemade for Hunger to assist with our administration fund.

Funding for Office Supplies - Getting the name of Homemade for Hunger out there to make people aware of our new organization takes up a great deal of office supplies.  We're starting out, but we're here to stay, so the more word we can get out about our organization, the more we are able to do for our community at large.  If you would like to donate specific supplies as opposed to funds for such a purpose, please contact us and we will be able to provide you with a list of the materials we are currently in need of.

Locations - This need is stated below, but since we want to kick off the new year to a good start, and since hunger does not only occur during the holidays, if you are aware of a location that would be willing to host a Homemade for Hunger table for 1-2 days during the course of the year for various drives, please contact us to let us know.

Donating & Volunteering

There are many ways that organizations, groups, churches, and individuals can help Homemade for Hunger reach its goals for each one of our drives.  These are just some ideas, if you have any others please don't hesitate to contact us with them.  We appreciate your comments, ideas, and any assistance you provide to our organization, and the people around you.

Some of the ways you can help us are:

Flyers - If you are willing to let us put up a flyer, or you would be willing to put one up for us to let people know about our organization, let us know!  We'd be happy to come and hang a flyer where it is permitted, or we could also email the flyer to you as an attachment and you could put it up, also.

Locations - If you own or operate a business or location that would allow Homemade for Hunger to set up a small table for 1-2 days during whichever drive works best with your schedule, in order to sell merchandise, we would very much appreciate it.  Currently Homemade for Hunger is in need of locations, and we need this to keep our organization running.  Please contact us if you are able to assist in this area.

Monetary Donations - These donations go toward craft supplies, directly to our drives themselves (ie-food materials to be cooked & delivered hot Christmas morning), other local charities and shelters, and to assist with operating costs year-round to keep Homemade for Hunger helping our community one drive at a time.  If you should feel inclined to give this type of donation, please make checks payable to Homemade for Hunger.  If you would like a receipt, simply specify as such and make sure you provide a return address and we will send that to you promptly.

Craft Materials - We are always pleased to accept craft-making materials or gift cards to craft material stores as donations.  This is one of the foundations of what keeps our organization running and no contribution is too small.  If you have leftover craft kits or yarn sitting around "collecting dust," why not donate it to an organization that can use it to promote the well-being of our community?

Homemade Craft Items - Since our volunteers don't always have the time to turn all of our craft stock into sellable merchandise before each next drive, we also accept and very much appreciate your donated homemade crafts.  The materials and time that go into many of the items we receive show us the heart behind these generous gifts, and we are honored to put them out into the community to serve the best purpose possible.  Again, if you have any homemade crafts that you would be willing to donate, please contact us or feel free to send us your donation to the address found under our Contact page.

Purchase of our items - Another way to assist our organization is to visit one of our tables during one of our drives and purchase our items.  We accept all types of donations at our tables, but this is the only place you can see the items that have been hand-made through the hard work of people doing what they can to provide for their neighbors.  A lot of heart has gone into a lot of these items and it really shows.  Its worth checking out, and they make great gifts that carry true meaning.

Volunteers for selling - If anyone would like to volunteer to work at one of our tables in locations around the Twin Cities, please contact the founder of Homemade for Hunger to discuss this further, or send us an email explaining why you would like to volunteer with us.

Craft store gift cards - We accept gift cards or gift certificates to craft stores as a way for Homemade for Hunger to keep inventory varied and buy extra materials with which to make craft items (thread, needles, notions, brushes, string, yarn, hooks, etc).

Craft store discounts - Of course, this applies to owners of craft stores, generally indpendently owned, who would be willing to provide a discount to Homemade for Hunger on the purchases of supplies from their store to go toward a good cause.  If you own a craft store of any variety and would be willing to provide a discount to our organization, please contact our organization's founder.  Contact information is on our "Contact us" page.

Word of Mouth - Being a fairly recently developed organization, Homemade for Hunger is still in the process of doing everything we can to get the word out about us, so that anyone interested in working with us is able to.  If you know of anyone who you think would really get into our type of organization and work, please pass the word along.  We appreciate this very much, because its hard to help your community, when your community doesn't know who you are and that you're there.

Random Acts of Kindness - Above all, Homemade for Hunger wants to promote overall care and compassion throughout our various Twin Cities communities.  There are all sorts of ways to help those in need, perhaps you know someone who could use a helping hand this season, give anonymously.  Even when a gesture is as small as opening the door for someone, or allowing someone the space in front of you in traffic, our mission at Homemade for Hunger truly comes down to a request to everyone to do what they can, in the ways they can, to try to make life even a little better for those around us.
